           This year we are proud to celebrate 19 years of Radecarl. To mark the occasion, we wanted to share with you the story of the business and how it got to where it is today…
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Where it all began…
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The business was founded in 2005 by the 3 partners: Tony Lamorte, Robin Kinrade and Paul Lamorte, who were all in full-time employment at the time.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           They began by buying and selling properties, which was going well until 2008, when the financial crash happened and the properties were devalued by 25% overnight.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           They soon realised that they had to think of other ways to make money so they started a maintenance business focusing on commercial/industrial buildings as this is where their main expertise lay.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           By 2010, they had created over 12 month’s worth of business alongside their usual day jobs so it reached a stage where someone needed to quit their job and focus solely on taking Radecarl further.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It was then that Tony took the lead and handed in his notice to his employer so he could concentrate on growing the business full time. This allowed the other guys to follow suit shortly after.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In 2011, Robin set up a cleaning business alongside Radecarl Ltd which grew the business to a 2 million pound company in the space of 6 years. In the same year, Paul joined Radecarl Ltd full time alongside Tony’s son, Daniel.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           And now…
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The business forecast now has a turnover of 2 million pounds on maintenance works alongside property investment.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We have built up a wide range of projects under our belt over the years carrying out commercial, industrial and domestic services for clients such as Principality Stadium and Swalec Stadium. We are also proud to be sponsors of Glamorgan Cricket and The Machen Show year after year and thoroughly enjoy being able to support local where we can.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>SUPERCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP</title>

           We were thrilled to be asked to work at the Principality Stadium over the weekend for the Supercross World Championship 2022.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We were tasked with building the blocks for the bikes along with the finishing podium for the champion at the end.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Of course we had to test it out with our very own Ellis holding his cup (of water...) high on the first place stand.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           All of it has now been dismantled, packed up and moved on as it will travel with the Supercross team around the world.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This has never been done before so we are proud to be asked to work on this. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            We recently installed for Homeline in Aberdare. This work included a full strip out, new floors, kitchen and plumbing installed with complete furniture and decoration throughout.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           They also received brand new air conditioning from our friends at D &amp;amp; G Air Conditioning which will be ideal for the warmer months ahead...
          &#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

      <title>WOULD YOUR FIRE DOORS FAIL AN INSPECTION?</title>

           Fire doors play an invaluable part in protecting your building and everyone inside it. They not only provide a means of escape, but also form a barrier to minimise the risk of it spreading and causing further devastation.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           However, for many buildings it’s only when a fire breaks out, that the consequences of poorly fitted or maintained fire doors are highlighted. They must have certain features in order to fulfil their purpose, otherwise, they won't be able to perform properly.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So are your doors fitted and maintained as they should be? Here are 5 steps to checking they meet current standards:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           1 - Can they be identified as a Fire Rated Door?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           There should be a certification label or coloured plug at the top edge of the door to show it's certified. If not, the door may not offer any protection so worth getting it checked.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            You should be able to see a 'Fire Door Keep Shut' sign marked clearly on both sides of the door. If not this then something similar, otherwise the public won't identify this as a route of escape.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

            3 - Does the Door Closer work?

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Fire Doors needs a door closer so check to see if you have one, and that it's works properly. It should allow the door to shut, latch and should be free of any damage.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           4 - Does it have the correct Hinges?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Check your Fire Doors to see if it has the correct hinges which are CE rated and protect from fire and smoke damage. There should be 3 hinges, all free of damage and every screw should remain intact. It should also be marked to show that it's fire rated and suitable for commercial and home use.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ﻿
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           5 - Are the Gaps and Seals the right measurements?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The gap between the frame and the door should be between 2mm - 4mm, so using a Gap Gauge you can check the measurements are up to standard. You also need to check that the frame and seals are in good condition as they all can allow the fire and smoke to spread causing more damage, and quickly. Intumescent seals, or strips, are fitted to the door and, when exposed to extreme heat, expand to close any edges or gaps that may leave the fire door vulnerable to fire and smoke spread.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>NEW DUCTWORK INSTALLATION IN ABERDARE PLASTICS FACTORY</title>

           We have recently installed new ductwork for a new line that is being installed in a plastics factory in Aberdare.

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We were asked to work alongside the machine manufacturers and installers to connect this large ductwork to the machine fan and exhaust. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

      <title>STRUCTURAL WORK COMPLETED FOR METAL MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN NEWPORT</title>

         We have recently completed some structural work for a metal manufacturing company in Newport. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           We had to cut out an opening of 6.5 metres that had over a ton of weight above. This will now allow the company to bring in new machines and expand on their manufacturing process. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           We have recently completed the cleaning work for a local University in South Wales on around 5000 fans and are pleased to say we have won the contract for the fifth year!
          &#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           This was a massive job which required taking each fan apart, cleaning, replacing the filters and then reporting any issues found. We then carefully log each fan to record the maintenance work carried out.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

  We brought up their old flooring of dark heavy duty floor tiles and laid the new flooring to give the room a lot more light and to help with the ease of cleaning. 
  
                    
                    &#xD;

  This job was completed within a tight timescale to the delight of the customer.

                    We were asked by Everest Windows in Treherbert to design &amp;amp; install a new Lean to, to house some of the window frames on site.

  We matched the cladding of the lean to- to the cladding of the external of the factory so it blends in well.
  
                    
                    &#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    
                    
                    
  We then installed electric roller shutter doors for security.

  The customer is very happy with the new lean to.

                    Radecarl were asked by Eaton in Cwmbran to refurbish their Male &amp;amp; Female toilets. We stripped the toilets out completely, plastered the walls, inserted a new ceiling grid and tiles, new flooring and installed new bathroom equipment. We also installed a new shower room in the Ladies toilets by converting an old store room.

  At the same time as the Toilet refurbishment we lay a new floor, installed new lighting and painted the entrance hallway and re-carpeted the stairs.

    Radecarl were asked to create a safe and durable flooring for the facility that would provide a non-slip flat surface for foot traffic and movement of glass on trolleys.
  
                  
                  &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
                    
                    
    Before coating, the existing floor had to be properly prepared, with a state-of-the-art HTC diamond grinding system used to create a suitable substrate for the epoxy resin flooring.
  
                  
                  &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
                    
                    
    The flooring previously had tracks for railing in-bedded into it. We removed these using a kango and ground back the area to a flat suface. We used a high-build epoxy coating system, applied in two coats.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
                    
                    
    The Customer is very happy with their new flooring.

We already completed a Control Room for the Stadium last year and they were so happy with the outcome they decided to duplicate this in another part of the Stadium.                     We were asked by Northern Aerospace in Llantrisant if we were able to convert an old store room into a new Disabled Bathroom. We stripped the old store room out completely, plastered the walls, inserted a new ceiling grid and tiles, new flooring and installed new bathroom equipment. We have also installed an alarm in case of an emergency. The customer is very happy with their new Bathroom.

                    Radecarl were asked by an Aerospace company in Blackwood to help with the gutters on site. The customer was having issues with the gutters blocking up and leaks within the factory. Radecarl were asked to provide a solution for this. The gutters were all lined including the syphonic drains. We are also able to give a manufacturer warranty of 25 years. Customer very pleased with the outcome.

                    Radecarl were asked by The Principality Stadium to knock 2 hospitality boxes into 1. We were asked to complete the work in a short time scale in readiness for the Autumn Internationals. Yet to be decorated but customer is happy so far.

                    Congratulations to AQS, our cleaning services partner, who have secured a new 5 contract to continue cleaning the Principality Stadium and a 3 year contract with the Swalec stadium, home of Glamorgan County Cricket club and host of the first Ashes Test match earlier this year.
